Lunch at Kiku Zakura, Mid Valley Megamall

Today me and my posse went to GSC Mid Valley Megamall to watch the 11 am screening of Avatar (3D). This was the fourth time I watched this film - the first time was the 2D version and the subsequent ones were the 3D version. It was really good. In fact, I wouldn't mind watching it again another time.

After the movie, we headed off to this place for lunch. This is one of my favourite Japanese restaurants and we are somewhat regulars at this place having frequented the outlets at the old Jaya Supermarket building in Section 14 PJ, Great Eastern Mall and this one in Mid Valley Megamall.

Here's what the kids had - a Japanese-style pizza

This is what my lady and I had - the vegetarian bento set consisting of a vegetables rolled in seaweed fried tempura-style and Japanese beancurd in teriyaki sauce

The small bowl of salad which is an item in the bento set - shredded cabbage, sliced tomato and sliced cucumber with thousand island dressing

Pickled Japanese cucumber with white sesame seeds
After lunch we walked around a bit and then went home.

As far as I know, it doesn't. According to the restaurant supervisors (I've enquired before) they do not serve pork and they do not use alcohol in the preparation of their food. The only use halal meats in their products. Some of their kitchen staff at the Mid Valley outlet were Muslims the last time I was there.
Anyway, they do serve sake (Japanese rice wine) so I don't think they will get a certificate even if they applied for one.
