The day I met Jaclyn Victor

Yes, that's right. That's me with the first Malaysian Idol, Jaclyn Victor.

I was at work on Saturday in UMMC. At about 1pm, I left my room and saw that this function - a Pediatric Oncology Social Event was going on in the "Pasar Siti Khadijah" section of the hospital. There was a stage with children (some of them cancer patients) who were doing some karaoke, there were activities for the children and there were celebrities as well.

I gatecrashed into this party and immediately targeted the buffet - which was from Istana Hotel, no less. A simple spread, consisting mainly of snack food - spaghetti, roti jala, fried rice, French fries, chicken balls with grave, Penang laksa, sandwiches, etc.

As I was taking my food, this lady spoke to me. She said, "Hi, I'm Jaclyn". I looked to see - Jaclyn Victor. I said immediately,"Yes, of course, I know you.".

Not knowing what else to say, I mumbled to her something like. "I saw you in Talentime, and I thought you were very good". She said something which I can't quite remember. Then, two people asked me to take a photo of them with Jaclyn. I obliged and after that, I asked the same people to take a photo of me with Jaclyn using my iPhone.

Just before taking the photo, I told Jaclyn, "I must show this to my wife!"

After enjoying my free lunch and some of the performances by the children there, I made my way to Jaya 33 to by some DVDs.

I went home after that. Later in the evening, The whole family plus Ivan went to 1-Utama for dinner at TGI Friday's. Dayana had her usual beef ribs, Julina had the TGI Friday's burger, Ivan had the Jack Daniels Burger while I had the Sizzling Chicken & Cheese dish. My dish came with a complimentary Fried Mac & Cheese appetiser.

As usual we ate till we were so full. The portions are really huge at TGI Fridays (and all other Yankee Tex-Mex outlets e.g. Tony Roma's, Chilli's, Hard Rock Cafe, etc), aren't they?
