Mmmm what a weekend!

Quite a busy weekend for me!
On Saturday, started with sending my daughter to Ustazah Nora's house at 9.00am for her ugama class - she's apprently going through the agama & jawi schoolwork to prepare the students for the upcoming term exams. This was followed by piano lessons for my daughter Dayana & myself ( 11am-12.30pm). Then we went home and rested a bit.
At 4.00pm, we made our way to my sister's house for my nephew's birthday do. My nephew, Arif is 2 months younger than my daughter. Julina ( my wife) made her signature dish (Spinach Lasagne) which was done because it was requested so by the birthday boy himself. Other attendees were my siblings + spouses + children (save for one nephew who is in boarding school), my aunt - Cik Mah, my cousin Lin and my sister's mother-in-law and siblings-in-law (at least those who were available. He had a nice custom-made Spiderman 3 cake. There was mee Bandung, spaghetti, lasagna, cakes, and even pizza so I sutffed my face - as I always do when put in a situation where there My kids were busy playing with the other kids so I got back quite late, about 10.15pm as I recall. Arrived home at 10.50pm and managed to watch the tail end of the Akademi Fantasia concert and also two episodes of Little Britain (love that show!). That same night my wife received a call from my sis that she left her watch & other jewellery (which i was supposed to be in charge of) at her place. I left it on the sideboard when she askled me to take care of them as she wanted to give our son a bath.
Anyway on Sunday morning, after a trip to the gym (cardio + resistance), went to my sis's place to recover the forgotten jewellery. Also went to my other sis's place in Puchong to give her some stuff which my wife wanted me to pass on.
Went home to find my wife & daughter making choc chip cookies. After a lunch of chicken porridge, had a few cookies. Had a nice afternoon siesta.
At 4ish pm, it was time to send my daughter to her ballet class. She has to get a new, or rather a few pairs of ballet footwear. They are:
1. A "character shoe" - this high-heeled black dancing shoe (RM 50)
2. A pair of regular ballet shoes - (RM 69 - I'll have to pay for this next week when the ballet teacher brings them)
3. A pair of "pointe" ballet shoes + related paraphernalia. Pointe shoes are shoes that have inserts in them so that the ballet dancer can literally "stand on the tips of their toes". The pointe shoes cost a cool RM 269! This RM 269 does not include the inserts and the other stuff that goes along with it.
4. Oh and I also bought for her 2 pairs of thights. One pair cost RM 25.
I havent bought her a new leotard yet - she should have a new one as she is now in grade 5 but the teacher said I can buy the new one closer to the exam next year as she still can fit into this one.
Ballet classes itself cost RM 165/month (2 classes a week for grade 5).
Expensive, huh?
Anyway, got my car washed while waiting for my daughter to finish with her ballet lesson.
Went home, rested, have dinner and slept some more.
I love weekends...
Ciao!
Amir Fuad.
